Reserve, an ex-mineral extraction site, and so when the
opportunity arose to extend the nature reserve through further extraction, they were keen to maintain their involvement.
On completion of mineral extraction and restoration, Ripon
City Quarry will become a wetland nature reserve which will be gifted to Yorkshire Wildlife Trust to manage for biodiversity purposes.
